New Year’s Eve Affairs are coming quickly, right behind the celebration of Christmas. Beautiful evening gowns may be the required dress.
All of us have or would like to have an invitation to a “Black Tie” affair at least once in our lives. But “black tie” might make you panic if you are not your average woman. Plus sized ladies sometimes get forgotten when it comes to formal wear.
Plus Size Gowns
Curvy ladies love to have styles that make them look fantastic and fashionable at the same time. New Year’s Eve is the perfect time for any of the gowns I have chosen to showcase for you!
This beautiful gown will be a gem in your wardrobe. Sparkle and style come together to flatter the curvy lady in a way that will surely make you stand out in the crowd. Whether you wear this for New Year’s Eve or another fancy occasion, you will certainly turn heads in your direction.
Beautiful flowing skirt with detail at the bodice that just speaks of elegance all the way through. This dress comes in several colors, but this turquoise number really caught my eye. Available in sizes up to 24W for your pleasure! I know it would be a pleasure to wear this gown……………
If the Turquoise is not to your taste, then this mauve gown would also be a beautiful elegant option. A Halter style neckline with rhinestones and a lovely ribbon of beading at the empire waist, just finish this dress off. Flowing fabric skirt sets this dress apart…………….
Another beautiful gown that just speaks volumes. Classic with a peek-a-boo type bodice. The long flowing skirt again is a Plus Size woman’s dream come true. Beautiful and Elegant, you will be the Belle of the Ball in this long evening gown.
This stunning Blue Gown, is another dream come true for the curvy lady that loves to show off her amazing figure. Cut close to the body, it just hugs the body in all the right places. The lacy fabric is rich and speaks volumes about the lady wearing it. Amazing is one word that comes to mind. I love the mermaid flounce at the bottom of this gown and the lovely cut lace details at the neckline.
Can we all say Oh-la-la together? This shimmery black gown is out of this world beautiful. See through in all the right places and flattering without a doubt. Who could resist this MacDuggal dress? I love the fancy detail at the neckline and I love the short sleeve that just sets the Plus Size Gown apart. New Year’s Eve will be a night to remember!
Another Plus Size Gown that will be turning heads all night. This flowing skirt is matched with a beautiful bodice that let’s all your feminine charms work for you. Flattering and feminine all at the same time, this dress just has that “I have arrived” look. Yes, you will generate some looks from your fellow guests and patrons at whatever function you wear this dress. This gown is suitable for New Year’s Eve or a wedding, prom or other “Black Tie” event that you happen to attend.
Red just happens to be one of my favorite colors and this gown does not disappoint. Beautiful sequins burst from the waistline up to your neckline and from the waistline down to your toes. What a picture of perfection you will be in this lovely Plus Size Gown that just shimmers in all the right places. Your special occasion is just waiting for this gown!
This Cut Out Gown makes great use of a criss-cross design across the bosom accentuating the bust line and the beautiful neckline. The Flowing skirt makes this gown a perfect choice for the plus size woman. Small hints of skin at the waist give this gown just a little sexiness that is not overt in any way. Flattering for the curvy woman and just a little sparkle in the straps that crisscross over the back. Stunning is a good word for this gown.
Which Gown Should I Pick?
Let’s just say that any of the styles I have shown you here, would be lovely for New Year’s Eve, the Opening Night at the Opera, or some other “Black Tie” affair. You need not worry about being underdressed for the occasion. Each one of these dresses is made to flatter the Curvy Plus Size Woman, the details are just wonderful. Many of the gowns have enough sparkle to catch the eye. Not too much other accoutrements are required to dress up these gowns. They are fancy without being over done. I think each one in its own right is just gorgeous. Let me know in the comments which one is your favorite. I’d really like to know which one or which ones caught your eye.

I have been a fashion designer/dressmaker for over 35 years. In that time I have made everything and anything that can be worn for work or for play. Custom made items and ready to wear customized for you have been the order of business over that time...Now I am turning my eyes to those ladies who are having a difficult time finding flattering items for their sizes. No more ill fitting clothes, just because you have a little more in places where a size 14-16 or more won't do........
I was just telling Cynthia, that I wanted to be Cinderella. But her ball ends at midnight and I just would be starting to have some fun. So I think I’ll stick with Belle and Beauty and the Beast…..she danced all night. Thanks for your comments Barbara!
I’m dreaming of being Cinderella soon……But not for New Years, cause when the clock strikes 12 it’s all over, and I would just be getting started by then. Lol. Thanks for your comments Miss Cynthia.
Kristen, thank you for your comments. That one with the cut outs is really a stand out isn’t it? I still think the red is my favorite, with this one a close second. Red is my favorite color after all.
I have to agree with you Kathleen, there is something about looking at beautiful dresses that takes you away to a magical place. I love watching Andre Rieu when he has the dancers on doing a beautiful waltz……Beauty and the Beast comes to mind…..lol
That one is stunning. There are many more if you click on the link at the bottom. I like that the sparkle factor isn’t overdone. Very classy and sexy without being in your face. Thanks for your visit, Greta! Happy Holidays.
We have a gala coming up in February for my husbands med school cohort. I think I’m going to wear a gown like this then! (Because New Years Eve, we all dress up in our PJs and stay at home!)

Dear Divya, you are too funny. I like your style for New Years, we have done that many times. Check out the link at the bottom, they really have some beautiful gowns for your size. I try to focus on the Plus Size here, but many of my affiliates cater to all sizes. A gala in February sounds like fun. Break up the winter months. Thanks for your visit.
I have to agree with you Elizabeth Ann! I should be careful though, red is my favorite color. I love the way they have the sequins arranged on this dress. Not too overdone with the flash, just right and in the right places too. Thanks for your visit.

Some standout dresses in this post. I especially like the ones in royal blue and red. You’d be the belle of the ball in one of those.

Thank you for your comments Sheila Jo, I like the red one too. The other dresses are a close second in my books, I would have a hard time picking.
Such a gorgeous selection of dresses. I’d feel like a princess in any of them.

It is pretty isn’t it Sandy. I am partial to the red, but it is my favorite color so I have to be careful. I do like the design of that one too!
